Brazilian Rosewood, commonly known as “Jacaranda,” is recognized as one of the highest-quality woods in the lumber industry. In 1992, due to the Washington Convention (CITES), regulations were placed on the Rosewood family, particularly targeting Brazilian Rosewood, also commonly referred to as Jacaranda. Due to these stringent regulations, guitars made of Jacaranda wood almost immediately disappeared from the market.
The L-10 guitar has a high valuation because it is made from wood that is restricted for export.
