彼は特に酒器の制作に力を入れ、徳利や酒呑などを多く手がけました。その作風は朴訥と評され、特に「中村家の緋色」と呼ばれる深い緋色の作品には多くの愛好家がいます。文豪の井伏鱒二や歌人、詩人とも交流があり、特に安東次男とは密接な関係があった。

I purchased a tokkuri (sake flask) by Nakamura Rokuro for 50,000 yen in Gifu City.

Nakamura Rokuro (1914-2004) was a prominent ceramic artist hailing from Bizen City in Okayama Prefecture, also affectionately known as "Roku-san." He was a member of various art and crafts organizations such as the Japan Crafts Association's China Branch, the Bizen-yaki Pottery Association, and the Traditional Craftsmen Association. He won numerous awards throughout his career. Influenced by his father and mentored by Kanezhiru Toyo, he chose the path of a ceramic artist. In 1961, he built his own kiln, known as "Rokuro Kiln," and was recognized as a traditional craftsman in 1986.

He particularly focused on crafting sake utensils, producing many tokkuris and sakazukis (sake cups). His style is often described as unadorned and simple. He is particularly known for his deep scarlet works, referred to as "Nakamura family's scarlet," which have many admirers. He had relationships with literary figures like Ibusuki Masuji and poets, particularly having a close relationship with Ando Tsugio.

He was also known for his love of sake, and there are many anecdotes related to his drinking. Furthermore, his eldest son, Nakamura Makoto, and his grandson, Nakamura Kazuki, are also active as ceramic artists.
